With a permanent line-up announced just this past August, Abbath has released a live music video for “Fenrir Hunts,” the first taste of their debut album which is due out in early 2016.

Said Abbath bass player King (from King Ov Hell, formerly of Gorgoroth) on the new album:

“We’ve tried to capture the essence of each musician in the band. You get so tired of all these bands sounding the same – you go in, they doctor things everywhere, and everyone starts sounding the same. I want to back to the feeling of the ’70s, of bands I grew up with, like Led Zeppelin, John Paul Jones, John Bonham, all these characters whose personalities were huge in the music. I always wanted to be in a band where that could be accomplished, and I think we’ve started something. We have the power to do some very unique things with this.”

Apparently this isn’t the final version of the song (the Season of Mist YouTube page says, “This is a live recording of a new Abbath track to appear in a different studio version”), but we’ll take what we can get!

Abbath will be doing a European tour with Behemoth, Entombed A.D. and Inquisition starting in late January, which hopefully is around the time the new album comes out on Season Of Mist.
