Ice Nine Kills’ new video is a timely literature lesson

Posted by on March 30, 2017

Back in December of 2015 Ice Nine Kills released a concept album called Every Trick in the Book. Each song from the album is based on a different piece of literature including Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dracula, and the Exorcist, to name a few. The band’s latest music video is for the song “The Nature of the Beast,” which is based on George Orwell’s Animal Farm. This is the third music video released from the album, joining videos for “Communion of the Cursed” (based on The Exorcist) and “Hell In The Hallways” (based on Carrie) and lyric videos for “Me, Myself & Hyde” (based on The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) and “Bloodbath & Beyond” (based on Dracula). In a media cycle of “alternative facts” and “fake news,” a song about a book by George Orwell about a totalitarian future is timely. The band announced that they would let the fans choose what their final song from the Every Trick in the Book cycle will be about, presumably for a deluxe edition of the album. The band is currently on tour with Chelsea Grin, Gideon, and Enterprise Earth. Remaining tour dates can be found below:
