For the last few years or so, In Flames have had a bit of an identity crisis. It seemed at times like they didn’t know whether they wanted to take the Gothenburg melodeath sound that they helped pioneer or become an active rock band. Sometimes, it seems like they’re doing both, and that continues on”Through My Eyes,” the latest track from their forthcoming Battles. The song’s definitely heavy as all hell when it starts out, and has a nice melodic chorus. Par for the course with In Flames, but it’s still heavy enough to be a full-on metal song.
