I don’t particularly care how much flak these guys get, I’ve been a fan since I first pirated 10,000 Fists, and then immediately walked to the store to buy it I don’t even remember how many years ago. I credit Disturbed as being one of the first contemporary bands to get me into the whole hard rock and metal scene, so when they announced in 2011 that they were going on a hiatus I was pretty disappointed. Luckily, I was able to see them right before when they toured on what I still think was the best Mayhem Festival line-up– Trivium, Megadeth, Godsmack, and Disturbed on the main stage.

The video posted by the band is just a teaser, showing what looks to be the Guy, their mascot, in some sort of sci-fi looking room just laying there. He doesn’t sit up, there is no grand finale, he’s just lying in wait. They also changed their Facebook profile photo to a blank, black image, and their timeline one to a new logo (I dig it).

I’ve known since their bassist John Moyer left Adrenaline Mob that something had to be on the horizon. Well, I didn’t know, but I knew, do you follow? The reasons were never specified, but deep inside I knew something was coming. Then of course Dave Draiman’s hints that they would get together “someday.” Regardless, I’m pleased and waiting, because it’s been five years since Asylum, and already two since Device’s self-titled release; we’re due for something soon.
