Earlier today, Wisconsin-based death metal band Jungle Rot informed the public via their Facebook page that their newest music video titled “Doomsday” was published and then taken down by the U.S. government, citing “dissention” (nope, not dissension). The video had been teased over the last few weeks before being immediately removed from the Internet. According to the band’s Facebook page, the “Doomsday” video will be re-edited and rereleased next week. Jungle Rot weighed in on the controversy by quoting Thomas Jefferson, who said “when injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.”

The video is another release off of their 2015 album release Order Shall Prevail, unveiled as the quartet took off to headline the Victory Records stage at last Summer’s ill-fated Mayhem Festival. Jungle Rot joins countless other death metal bands around the world who continue to battle government and media censorship, for various reasons. We just wrote about Iranian band Confess, who might be put to death for their music, while Cannibal Corpse continue to face being banned in some countries.

Jungle Rot teased some more tour dates, and will probably announce them when the re-edited “Doomsday” video is released next week.
