Mastodon focus on Troy blending in with latest ‘Emperor of Sand’ studio clip

In just three weeks, Mastodon’s Emperor of Sand is going to be out. If you think we’re excited, you should see how excited bassist Troy Sanders is. The latest “making of” focuses on him. We already have seen him pull a Rambo, and now we know why. In this clip, he talks about how having a “mountain of drums” behind him and Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher’s guitars, that sometimes the bass has to blend in. Then we show him talking about how the bass is sometimes camoflauged or hidden. Of course, that cuts to him in a forest. Either way, it still has us psyched for the rest of the album, even if “Show Yourself,” which we’ve already heard, is the focus of the clip.

Emperor of Sand will be released on March 31st on Reprise Records. You can pre-order it here.
