Since The Witcher premiered on Netflix, the metal community immediately associated the Bard’s voice with Trivium’s Matt Heafy, which led to numerous requests for him to cover “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” on his Twitch stream. He originally covered the song live acoustically but now released a full metal band version featuring Trivium bandmate, Alex Bent on drums.
Heafy was also able to sign a deal with Roadrunner Records for his solo material.
“My solo signing to Roadrunner Records is now the spot where all my fun solo endeavors will pop up. Spin on repeat.”
Matt is also working on a black metal project with Ihsahn titled Mrityu, so perhaps that will be featured on Heafy’s solo deal? We will soon find out!
