Power Trip’s “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe)” video is next best thing to seeing them live

Posted by on March 28, 2017

If you’ve gotten a chance to see Power Trip live, you can attest to the manic energy of their live set. The band’s just-released video for “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe)” is the next best thing to being at one of their shows. Shot at a hometown show in Dallas, and directed by the band’s Andy Capper, it’s part straightforward performance video and part war footage and political figures that not-so-subtly conveys the meaning of the song. If you substituted Reagan and Thatcher for Trump and Putin, this could be an Exodus or Leeway video 30 years ago – and that’s a good thing. The band are currently on a West Coast tour. Scroll down for the dates.
