We’ve known via interviews for Lindemann that Rammstein aren’t going to begin working on their next album until later this year. However, on Friday, Rammstein posted a somewhat cryptic trailer for something called ‘In Amerika.’ The 80 second trailer is essentially a montage of photos, many of them in and around New York. Metal Injection zeroed in on a shot of Hammerstein Ballroom with a K-Rock truck outside of it and took it to mean that it could be a live DVD of their 2001 show there, which was one of their final US shows for over a decade.

However, there’s also a shot of Madison Square Garden in the trailer. That was the site of their return to America in 2010, where they instantly sold the venue out. It could be either of those shows, or maybe both. While there was no official reason given for the band’s hiatus in the States, given that The Station nightclub fire made many US venues strengthen their fire codes and ban pyrotechnics, it’s no surprise they took some time off from the States. We’ll find out soon enough what this is about. Until then, here’s some footage of the Hammerstein show.
