Spotlights release first track from forthcoming Ipecac debut

We first became aware of Spotlights last year, when the Brooklyn  “sludgegaze” duo consisting of married couple Mario and Sarah Quintero wrote a tour diary for us after the then-unsigned band got to open for Deftones and Refused. The two, who tour as a trio (sometimes with Primitive Weapons drummer Chris Enriquez), then got signed to Ipecac. Seismic, which is coming in October, was produced by Aaron Harris (Isis, Palms), and yesterday, the band released the first taste of it via a lyric video for “Learn to Breathe.” 

The good news is that if you like what you’ve heard from the heavy, sludgy “Learn to Breathe,” chances are you’ll get a chance to see them live. Yesterday, they kicked off a massive tour with the Melvins that’ll see them playing pretty much everywhere over the next three months. Check the dates after the video:
