Last night (29th), Tool announced the title of their new album, Fear Inoculum, as well as revealing their back catalog will finally be available on digital streaming services this coming Friday (2nd). Today (30th), we are exactly one month away until the follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days arrives and this is as real as it can get. After the years of hopeful updates, rumors, and memes (we will miss the memes), Tool’s new album will realistically be in our hands and we can only hope it will include “The Descending” and “Invincible.”

Following the group’s exciting news, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan appeared on Episode #1326 of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast last night and discussed how weight has  been lifted off his chest.

Maynard expressed:

“Fuck, what a weight lifted off my chest. It took a lot of work. The four of us are a lot of fucking work just to get anywhere. Oh my God…everything’s a fucking committee meeting and always gets shot down.”

Rogan asked what caused the thirteen-year delay as Maynard responded:

“Success. When you become successful, you think you’re right about everything. You’re pretty sure as that individual, ‘I am right and you are wrong.’ ‘I’m successful and we’re successful because of me, not because of you.’ It’s not that bad with us… There’s a dynamic of, ‘I want this and I’ve always gotten my way and that’s why we’re successful, because I don’t compromise.’”
