Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit, a non-profit charity event, took place over the weekend. Of course Neil Young performed at the all-acoustic event, but this year, Metallica joined for a special nine-song acoustic yet. The set included covers of songs by The Clash, Deep Purple and ended with a version of Buffalo Springfield’s “Mr. Soul” with the band joined by Neil Young himself. Also the set included an acoustic version of “Hardwired,” from their forthcoming Hardwired… To Self Destruct. Fan-filmed footage is below.

The Bridge School ensures that individuals with severe speech and physical impairments can participate in their communities via the use of augmentative and alternative means of communication and assistive technology. Here’s the band’s set:

“Whiskey In The Jar” (cover)
“When A Blind Man Cries” (Deep Purple cover)
“Hero Of The Day”
“Bleeding Me”
“Clampdown” (The Clash cover)
“Enter Sandman”
“Hardwired”
“Seek & Destroy”
“Mr. Soul” (Buffalo Springfield cover) (featuring Neil Young)
