February is turning into a wonderful month.  First, we heard about the Beavis and Butthead collection and now the cult classic Wayne’s World is turning 25 and is going to party on for 6 months in Aurora, Illinois to celebrate! Let’s face it, if the movie and SNL skits didn’t exist, no one would have ever heard of Aurora. According to aux.tv, This 25-year celebration will be held in the town and it’s sponsored by a property owners’ association. There are a plethora amount of events during the six-month festival called “Party On! 25 Years of Wayne’s World.” Competitions and activities include the following: a screening of the film at the Paramount Theatre, an on-the-street-quiz, a viewing of the replica of Garth’s AMC Pacer, a headbanging to “Bohemian Rhapsody” contest, air guitar competitions, the town’s Luigi’s Pizza hosting an excellent look-alike competition, and more.

For those that do not reside or even know how to get to Aurora, the film will be screened in select theaters on February 7 and 8th. We’d suggest you see this film in Delaware, of course.

If you are not worthy, according to Pitchfork, Paramount Home Media Distribution will release a Wayne’s World double feature on DVD and Digital HD on February 14. The digital release will include a commentary and a making-of feature while “Stairway” will be denied for a musical background.
