UK trio Muse have their 7th album, Drones, coming out on June 8th. Are they a metal band? Nope, not particularly, but they have plenty of fans that are metalheads (like God Forbid, who covered them in the past). Additionally, they definitely take cues from some metal bands musically, like the Iron Maiden-ish end of “Knights of Cydonia.” Also of interest is that Robert John “Mutt” Lange co-produced the album. Best known for producing AC/DC’s Back in Black and Def Leppard’s Pyromania and Hysteria, he hasn’t worked with a proper rock band in years (and he did produce a Nickelback album, so there is that).

At any rate, check out “Psycho.” The song, or at least the video, seems inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket.
