In the 1950’s, great musicians such as Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby played to packed out crowds in Las Vegas, laying the foundation for future generations of performers to gig in the Nevadan desert. With that in mind, it’s no wonder that 1950’s tribute bands are becoming increasingly popular in Las Vegas. Harking back to simpler days of jazz, rock and roll and rhythm and blues is becoming more and more appealing to the younger generation.
Since the heady days of the 1950’s, it has become the norm for art, film, TV and merchandise to be produced to remind people of the era. 888casino has taken advantage of this. with the online casino successfully reminding players of the era’s pop and rock music through the Glorious 50’s slot game. The birth of the rock era clearly had an effect on every industry. Less than 20 years later, rock gave birth to heavy metal, and while there are many venues in Las Vegas that cater to every genre, metal and hard rock certainly has a place in Sin City.

The House of Blues boasts the most varied calendar in town. There are regularly heavy metal acts performing there, as well as any other genre of music you can possibly think of. Tickets can be purchased for $30 or less without pre-booking and they have a pretty impressive menu.
The Double Down Saloon hosts mainly punk music, however if you time your trip right you can find some heavy metal in there. The one time we were there, we took in a surf rock band playing a Black Sabbath medley while a topless hula dancer shook to the music. The venue has been so successful that there is an exact copy in New York. One key difference is that the club in Vegas hosts live music. Both are free.
