Both Motley Crue and Guns N’ Roses have been doing it up with residencies at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Now another 80’s hair metal/rock group is following in their footsteps: Def Leppard.

According to USA Today, Def Leppard will begin performing at Hard Rock’s The Joint on March 22. “We’re very happy to be part of what I call the first wave of rockers to take Vegas back from the lounge singers — Wayne Newton and his type,” singer Elliott told USA Today. Being dubbed Viva Hysteria!, the residency will find Def Leppard performing the album Hysteria in its entirety.

Def Leppard’s status as “metal” is questionable (they’ve especially separated themselves from the hair metal genre lately, despite the occasional tour package). Still, seeing Def Leppard in a small capacity theater like The Joint would be pretty cool to see, especially die-hard Leppard fans. And seeing that this marks the third 80’s metal-related residency the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is hosting, it’s safe to say that this could be a continuing trend (though they’ll probably be more careful with promo posters in the future).
