Insane Clown Posse already seeking new Gathering home

Insane-Clown-Posse-300-x-300When we last checked in with Insane Clown Posse one week ago, they’d just secured a new site for their long-running annual festival, Gathering of the Juggalos. With Kaiser, MO set as this year’s site, we expressed a little concern about Miller County Missouri sheriff Bill Abbott, who’d asked if the band played “Willie Nelson-style music,” and wanted to meet the “main man” organizing the festival. While The Great Milenko might be ICP’s Red Headed Stranger, talks with Mr. J and 2 Dope appear to have broke down, as Psychopathic Records is once again looking for a location for the festival.

Apparently, it was residents around the Kaiser area that “began to raise hell” about the Gathering coming to their area in August, and not their sheriff. Faced with the threat of a boycott, the CryBaby campground reneged on the deal since, with Psychopathic saying there was “just too much of an onslaught of negative energy coming at (CryBaby’s proprietors) to handle. Of course, this follows the death of an attendee at last year’s event, and, well, their campground being overtaken by a lot of people in clown makeup, so it’s at least understandable.

Disclaimer: We know that Insane Clown Posse aren’t metal, but they do embrace metal, with usually at least heavy act playing the Gathering each year. And like Jersey Shore and tentacle porn, the Juggalo culture is something no one in their right mind should care about, but it’s still fascinating to observe from afar with morbid fascination.
