Babymetal are a blast to see live, and if you don’t get that, then you haven’t seen them yet. Sure, the three teenage leads singing and dancing in Japanese while a metal band backs them is gimmicky, but the musicianship is amazing, the energy is infectious and the songs are catchy if you get past the fact that most of them aren’t in English. They’ve slayed on the festival dates they’ve been on in the States, and last year, the Red Hot Chili Peppers tapped them to open their European tour. That must have worked out pretty well, as the Peppers just announced a few weeks of tour dates in April, and Babymetal will be opening them as well.

We’d assume that many Chili Peppers fans have never seen nor heard of Babymetal, but they’ll be impressed. Especially if Peppers drummer Chad Smith continues to jam Judas Priest songs with them
